The Session Collective has just received a massive endorsement from Matthew a grassroots coach with a group of 12, 6 year olds. Here's what he told us:
Last night I implemented a number of top tips from Peter and his guests in my U6s training with great success and it felt like it was my best session and all the kids left happy.
The key changes I did was giving the children ownership of the lesson, I allowed them to create the warm up, pick the skills moves used in our traffic light sessions, pick there teams and help pick player of the week. Found that by giving them that ownership really brought the best out of them, especially when I am a single coach training coach 12 6 year olds.
I hope this will inspire more and more coaches to have a go and make the sessions more about the children and try to include them more in how the session progresses. Matthew certainly had a positive response.
