In an area or penalty area, everyone has a ball and 2 players are ready to enter with a car chamois, the aim is to hit as many footballs as possible in a time limit, take it in turns, exaggerate and make big bang noises if you hit a ball etc, players with a ball encourage them to maybe shield or accelerate away when the bomber approaches, always be looking and scanning as they might sneak up on you, I have U8’s now and they love it, started it in soccer school however, we have a monthly leaderboard for a bit of competition

This looks to be a great way to engage the young players whilst having lots of fun so thanks for sharing. Another that might work is for every player to have 3 clothes pegs clipped to ONE of the sleeves of their shirt. The tagger is tryng to collect pegs so the players are almost forced to turn their body away from the tagger to avoid the peg being taken. This is a nice introduction to turning away from an opponent and being side-on when shielding or screening the ball. The pegs can also be placed on the front or back of a player's shirt and this change means that different body movements are needed to avoid the pegs being taken. These games are fun but they will give you the opportunity to begin to talk about how we can transfer these movements into the game of football to help us when under pressure from an opponent. Great post, thank you. Pete
